Boarding For Breast Cancer

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This gives us an opportunity to band together and do whatever we can to aid in research, provide resources, and give to a cause that battles what has become a stark and tragic reality…

1 in 8 women will contract invasive breast cancer, and each year in the United States, roughly 240,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in women and around 2,100 in men.

Those are our sisters, wives, mothers, girlfriends, aunts, coworkers, friends, and for some, our daughters.  Our own families have been affected by this disease and unfortunately, some of yours have too.

We need to act now to continue the fight against breast cancer, and we could use your help.

We’re partnering with Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC), and for the entire month of October, $10 from every Pink A-Game will be donated to B4BC.

Boarding for Breast Cancer has been fighting the good fight for nearly 3 decades as a generous nonprofit committed to adaptively fighting an evolving disease.

Their mission:

“Our mission is triple focused to prepare young people with education on early detection, promote the importance of maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle as the best means of breast cancer prevention, and provide survivor support for those affected by breast cancer.”

For 27 years, B4BC has been hosting breast cancer education, prevention, and survivorship programs which reinforce its mission. This includes wellness retreats, fundraising events such as the Summer Skate and Love Your Peaks Series, and traveling education booths. They even have their own app which puts breast cancer prevention at your fingertips, complete with a Monthly Breast Self-Exam Reminder, Self-Exam Guide, and Wellness Content by B4BC’s contributors and team riders.

We understand the gravity of the situation and are doing our part to educate ourselves further and we’re asking you to do the same.  The melin Family is a tightknit group and we need to rally behind the most important cause, helping those in need, the women, families, loved ones, and friends battling breast cancer.

Let’s do our part.
